April Hunt Will Keep You On The Edge Of Your Seat Lori Foster, New York Times Bestselling Author In This Heart Pounding New Romantic SuspenseTop FBI Profiler Grace Steele Was Just A Girl When She Escaped The Order Of The New Dawn, And She S Spent The Last Seventeen Years Trying To Forget Her Time There But When Private Security Firm Steele Ops Needs Her Help Extracting A Young Woman From The Secretive Cult S Clutches, She S All In Even Though The Mission Requires Posing As The Fianc E Of The Only Man Who S Ever Broken Her HeartIt S Been Nine Years Since Cade Wright Turned His Back On His Childhood Sweetheart, And He S Never Stopped Regretting It Now That They Re Forced To Work Together, He Knows This Is His Opportunity To Show Grace How Much He S Changed But The Deeper They Get Pulled Into New Dawn, The Clearer It Becomes That The Demons Still Haunting Grace Are Very Real, And Cade Will Have To Risk Everything To Keep Her Safe Including His Own LifeIncludes The Bonus Novel Extreme Honor By Piper J Drake Lethal Redemption is book two in the Steele Ops series It is Grace and Cade s story and can be read as a standalone.Grace is a tough, take no prisoners, FBI agent Her next op takes her back to DC where her family and her ex, live There is a lot of history between Grace and Cade and they didn t exactly end on good terms She s forced to work with him again when her cousins security firm request her help to rescue the Vice Presidents daughter from the very cult Grace walked away from when she was 13 Cade grew up with the Steele brothers and dated Grace for many years until they parted ways He s newly hired into Steele Ops just as Grace returns to work with them He may have been the one to walk away from Grace, but things aren t always what they seem You don t really learn the full truth of what happened with them at first but you can tell from the very beginning that Cade never got over her However Grace is not feeling all warm and fuzzy to be forced to work with Cade.As far as second chance romance goes, this is the type I like to see The fact that Cade never got over Grace and actively pursues her, makes up for him walking away all those years ago I m a sucker for a guy chase girl story I also really liked how tough Grace was She can handle her own and I love that in a heroine.Overall, for my first book from April Hunt, this was a good one to dip my toes into Grace s cousins, the Steele brothers, seem like they will provide very entertaining books of their own I will definitely be reading in this series. I don t often read romantic suspense, but I really enjoyed Lethal Redemption It was a fast paced and entertaining read I am a sucker for second chance romances, especially childhood sweethearts, so I was rooting for Grace and Cade from the very start Throw in the fake relationship trope and lots of action and I was sold This is book 2 in the series, but can be enjoyed as a standalone I have not had a chance to read book 1 yet and did not feel lost with the different characters and background of the story series.Grace was a really intriguing heroine I loved her intelligence and take no prisoners attitude Her chemistry with Cade was undeniable and their banter and back and forth was fantastic As much as I loved Grace and Cade though, the cause of their separation didn t quite sit right with me It felt too sudden and drastic after hearing about their supposed epic love Second chance always has lots of angst, but I almost felt like this had too little Yes, nine years have passed, but things flipped relatively quickly I didn t like that things fell to Grace with the drama at the end either I felt like Cade needed to do groveling and play a active role this time around. The plot of the story and discussion about cults was fascinating I thought the writing was stellar and I really felt like I was getting a glimpse into that world The different layers and ideaology behind the fictitious Order of the New Dawn were well thought out and made for a compelling and unique backdrop for the story This was an action packed read and I didn t see some of the twists coming This is my first April Hunt book, but I m already looking forward to the next book in the series.3.5 4 stars I voluntarily read and advance review copy of this book Lethal Redemption received a STARRED review from Publishers Weekly Fast paced and action packed, this swoon worthy nail biter is sure to keep readers hooked Read the full review Lethal Redemption is the second installment in the Steele Ops Series by April Hunt and works amazingly well as a standalone The first book was a 5 star read for me and this definitely delivered for me with all the suspense and the romance This story follows Grace Steele, an FBI profiler whose history as a teen involved joining and escaping a cult called the Order of the New Dawn Now, she is called upon to help the daughter of the Vice President The mission is to pose as a couple with Cade Wright, who broke her heart many years ago Grace is a character I loved she is strong, no nonsense, and of course, it is a bonus that she has a gun named Magdalena I am sold April Hunt is the queen of writing these romantic suspense genres that will keep your nose in the book, heart racing for the mystery and romance, and all while keeping you at a constant thrill to the very end It is a fast paced read and highly entertaining You will definitely enjoy the chemistry between Grace and Cade I cannot wait for the next installation of this series April Hunt is an auto buy author for me I love reading her writing, which is flawless and highly addictive Thank you to Estelle and the team at ForeverPub for introducing me to the ever so wonderful April Hunt I received an advanced copy and voluntarily reviewed this book All opinions are my own. This book was a great introduction to this author s work The characters were well rounded and had so much personality Liam really stood out for me He added comic relief and lighted so many tension filled situations Though this is book two in a series it was perfectly written as a standalone I didn t get lost in any of the plot or storyline for the main characters and was easily able to jump right in and feel like I already knew each and every person that played a part in the story Lethal Redemption was a wonderful second chance at a happily ever after for Grace and Cade High school sweethearts with a history that went much farther than that They shared a very deep connection, not just with each other but their families Full review to follow Lethal Redemption by April Hunt is book Two in the Steele Ops Series This is the story of Cade Wright and Grace Steele I have read the previous books but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so Grace is a FBI Profile agent who works hard to help others and her job So when she is requested to help the Vice Presidents daughter who has ended up with the same Cult that Grace escaped from she goes forward to do so This also puts her back with Cade a man who she loved but they broke up and now she has to pretend to be with him again This was a very exciting read that touched your heart with a second chance romance Loved it Lethal Redemption Steele Ops 2 by April Hunt4.5 starsM F RomanceTriggers Cult, MurderI was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads. This is the second book in the series and I would very strongly recommend that you read book 1, as you ll understand the characters thoroughly.Grace is asked to help out on an op as a personal favor to the vice president When she doesn t know for sure is that she is going to have to see the one person who she can t seem to forget, despite the hurt and pain they ve caused her Grace s background in the Order of the New Dawn OND is exactly what is needed They need her knowledge of the group to try and infiltrate.Cade knows that he messed up when he left Grace behind But, he isn t going to let the uncomfortable feelings she creates in him to stop him from protecting her When Cade volunteers to help Grace, he knows he s in for a fight What he doesn t realize is how much of herself Grace has kept hidden away Cade wants another chance, but they have to survive this assignment first. With nobody to turn to but each other, Cade and Grace will have to keep their feelings in check and their wits about them OND is no joke and they have become much dangerous Grace has to fight her own demons and make sure that she stays mentally aware She knows just how deep the rabbit hole can go and she wants to stay far away. This keeps you on edge and guessing about what the true end goal is While I was able to figure out the who part, it didn t detract from the book story at all I can t wait to see what book 3 brings. I read the first book in this series and really enjoyed it This one, I loved I think it s because the world has already been set up, you know most of the side characters and got a little background on the main characters in the previous book, Deadly Obsession.Deadly Obsession was my first book by April Hunt and I was super excited to read this one next We met Cade and Grace in DO and knew there would be a lot of tension between them in Lethal Redemption Grace, a Special Agent in the FBI Cade, former military, detective and now a part of Steele Ops, have known each other for years Many of those years they were a couple until something happened to split them up It s now years later and they have to work together to infiltrate a cult.Past hurts and two very strong willed people created a lot of snark and great banter I laughed a number of times while reading this fast paced, action packed, fun, sexy, suspenseful romance I found it hard to put down and read it in a day.Cults, under cover work, secrets, murders and a gun named Magdalena Trust me, you ll want to read this one.I received an advance reader copy for an honest review. More You want what You want love ballads and sonnets A picket fence and two point oh children Years down the line Maybe But for now I d settle for a clean slate and an honest to God stab at a second chance Having thoroughly enjoyed Deadly Obsession, which was the first book in this series of interconnected standalones, I was pretty jazzed to read Cade and Grace s story I found it to be an edge of your seat suspense with a hefty dose of romance and heat, and than enough banter to make me smile This was, simply put, a really enjoyable book Though I felt it slowed a little through the middle, it was all the while engaging and exciting and sweet a very well written example of one of my favorite tropes second chance romance There was action, sex, snippy comments and a sniper , wrapped in a mystery that would actually make good TV can we make that happen I d definitely watch it , and a love that was solidly built on an off page, in the past foundation Ultimately, Lethal Redemption offered a foray into forgiveness and redemption that was super rewarding and super sexy, and I have no doubt that I ll be back for a third go around with the Steele Ops team when the next book releases. FBI agent Grace Steele was 13 when she escaped from the order Of The New Dawn, a cult that her Mother brought her to as a child Grace had put the cult in her rear view mirror until she is asked to help get the daughter of the Vice President away from the Cult Grace doesn t feel she can say no and she is partnered with Cade Wright her former child hood love This book is action packed and will grab you from the first page It will have you on the edge of your seat rooting for Grace and Cade to succeed I couldn t stop turning the pages There is a twist at the end of the story that caught me by surprise Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
