When the Earth Had a Moon is an amazing sci fi novel What amazes me most in the book is that these things can all actually scientifically happen if you think about it, and that blows my mind Given that, it s like imagining a possible future Far fetched sure, but possible It opens our eyes showing how people won t change Politics will still create huge feuds and start no matter what planet we live on It s kind of sad that we can t all be like Canada haha. There was so much complexity to this When the Earth Had a Moon is an amazing sci fi novel What amazes me most in the book is that these things can all actually scientifically happen if you think about it, and that blows my mind Given that, it s like imagining a possible future Far fetched sure, but possible It opens our eyes showing how people won t change Politics will still create huge feuds and start no matter what planet we live on It s kind of sad that we can t all be like Canada haha. There was so much complexity to this book and it was mixed with so much information it kind of reminded me like interstellar Of course, it s not the same plot or anything, but the beautiful complications definitely match the book But that wasn t all there was to the book, the characters keep you so connected to the book The things Rex has to go through d
I received a copy of When the Earth Had a Moon from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review You know that saying, don t judge a book by its cover Well, this book is pretty much the reason why that rule exists Had I based my decision to read this book or not solely on the cover of this book as opposed to the description of it , I never would have given it a chance, and I would have lost out on a really good science fiction read If you re feeling a craving for a good not so old I received a copy of When the Earth Had a Moon from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review You know that saying, don t judge a book by its cover Well, this book is pretty much the reason why that rule exists Had I based my decision to read this book or not solely on the cover of this book as opposed to the description of it , I never would have given it a chance, and I would have lost out on a really good science fiction read I
This was a GoodReads giveaway win.I knew from the title that is was only a starting point for acomplete tale I rather read complete stories, but I don t mind a good beginning Unfortunately, this start was only so so For me, I had recently finished Artemis by Weir So the hard science portion of life on the moon in this book pales in comparison I was most disappointed by the lack of low gravity influenced action, both on the moon and in the space station It does not set me up in a new This was a GoodReads giveaway win.I knew from the title that is was only a starting point for acomplete tale I rather read complete stories, but I don t mind a good beginning Unfortunately, this start was only so so For me, I had recently finished Artemis by Weir So the hard science portion of life on the moon in this book pales in comparison I was most disappointed by the lack of low gravity influenced action, both on the moon and in the space station It does not set me up in a new environment This story almost could be set on a remote island Well, expect for the loss of the moon at the end Is this a spoiler The title refers to the moon in the past tense I hope the science picks up but I don t think that is the target audience and the storyline picks up the pace I don t know how many parts are in this story, but for me, I would rather wait for the complete tale before starting any of
I m not the biggest fan of this genre but, what surprised me, is the way in which the author mixed a significant dose of sci fiction, politics, and drama, resulting in the end, in an entertaining and humorous plot which got me into the story sooner than I expected. What I enjoyed reading When the Earth had a Moon, is the imagi
If I hadn t read Seveneves, I might have beenimpressed As it was, it was a rather underwhelming read The political conspiracy in the background didn t pique my interest either Rather, it turned me off. Makes you wonder This story makes you think about what could happen if the moon were to be destroyed It is kind of scary, but it it also shows that sometimes greed gets in the way of science and everyday life The soldiers on both sides were aggressive and the company and governments were greedy. New ScenarioI liked the story and plot but the characters were not well developed I am not compelled to read the next book as the characters did not pull me into their lives so that I would care what happened to them. I grow tired of SCIENCE fiction written by people who seem to care not a whit whether there is any sort of science behind their story It is one thing to imagine a hyper light drive, or teleportation, but conventionally one establishes the rules for your universe then sticks with them, unlike Fantasy where magic happens pretty much rules the day Here what started out as a decent story with some intrigue, plodded along with a lack of real style, and had spaceships that orbited stationary above I grow tired of SCIENCE fiction written by people who seem to care not a whit whether there is any sort of science behind their story It is one thing to imagine a hyper light drive, or teleportation, but conventionally one establishes the rules for your universe then sticks with them, unlike Fantasy where magic happens pretty much rules the day Here what started out as a decent story with some intrigue, plodded along with a lack of real style, and had spaceships that orbi
